The story:

Not so much embarrassing as a weird deja vu. I was a very small child, in the 3-4 area when this song was on the radio a lot, and spices meant nothing to me. But I liked the song about the stage with the lights coming on.

When I was in high school, I hung out with some folksinging types, who played this song a lot-- just the old part, not the S&G part, and it sounded so familiar, but I couldn't place it. One night someone put on the S&G record, and I heard the song for the first time in about 13 years, and it was the closest I ever felt to one of those drugged out "inspirations" without actually having taken drugs. I never told anyone about this. Well, except you now.
