The story:

For years, try as I might, the lyrics sounded like
"And you stick your nipples in brandy..." even
though I thought that might be a bit racey for a pop
song Furthermore, my warped lyric actually made
sense in that a hedonistic rich woman might very
well have some esoteric reason for sticking her
nipples in brandy! It wasn't until around 30 years
later that the real lyrics suddenly snapped into
focus for me. Of course, the real lyrics make much
more sense than my earlier misread, but to this
day, whenever I hear the song, I habitually mentally
substitute the wrong lyrics at first - but only for a
moment!
