The story:

I heard this on some cruise ship commercial when I was young enough to have to ask what a T-Bird was. When my dad explained that it was a car, I just took it as it was more fun to be on a cruise than driving in a car. Only years later when my Beach Boys-obsessed friend was singing it around me did I realize that A) The song had not been made up specifically for the commercial, and B) I had the wrong lyrics. Oops!
