The Story: Don't eat the fruit in the garden, Eden,, It wasn't in God's natural plan., You were only a rib,, And look at what you did,, To Adam, the father of Man.
The Story: You smell like goat, I'll see you in hell
I had already had an old tape of Garth's album "The Chase," before "That Summer" came out on radio. In the tape's liner notes, there were the lyrics to all of the songs, but I didn't pay much mind to them. Shortly after "That Summer" was released and then went into regular rotation, I heard a lyric in the song where I thought Garth said "On the air, there was a honker," which made me immediately think of the Honkers on Sesame Street. I thought it was so silly that the Honkers (or one of them, anyway) had a connection with the song - until I went back to the liner notes of the tape to make sure for myself that's what he was singing about. And after reading the lyrics, I found out that I was DEAD WRONG!!! "Honker" was actually "hunger."
