The dumb thing is I knew that I was hearing them wrong. When my wife and i go on driving vacations she always makes up CD's to listen to. his one of Jann Arden always shows up. So, on one particular day, I stupidly asked her what the real lyrics are because all i could hear is "I am mashes." Ever since then, that song always appears on the CD's and she makes a point of emphasizing the word "Mashes" to me every time it is in the song, which seems like a lot.
