I actually thought there was a word "pygmyon" meaning like a pygmy. I even used it in schoolyard taunts. I was like 9 when this song came out, and when I heard it years later I realized my mistake, and that "pygmyon" was not a word, either.

Same for me - "a pigmy on size", a reference to Jamaica's status as a smaller island perhaps??
