Driving along in the car in year 2000 & the song came on the radio, I hadn't heard it for a long time & it really did sound like they were singing my version - the reception hereabouts isn't too good sometimes, but checking with lyric sheet later found I was wrong.
Oddly enough I was listening to the "Misplaced Childhood" album this afternnon and while "Lavender" was on son came into room and said "Ah, a penny for the false minded"
