My husband was singing this in the car with my family. After he sang the incorrect lyric, he said, "Why would he have his back against the wrecking machine? That's never made any sense to me."

Just watched a re-run of Glee where they sang Jump, and said to hubby, "what is a wrecking machine, anyway - pretty stupid lyrics", whereupon he laughed uproariously and advised it was "record machine". So googled the lyrics in an attempt to prove him wrong (damn!), and instead discovered this site along with the realisation I had been singing the wrong words for many, many years. And I don't even like the song! Nice to know i am not alone, though.....
