I feel absolutely ridiculous. I never questioned that I was hearing it right. I also, obviously, never knew the name of the song. I happened to spot the title in Media Player when I put the CD into the computer. I'm suddenly very embarrassed never to have really considered what "two bits a throw" might have to do with a meatosaurus deity.
Ultimately, I'm very disappointed, because I loved the song the way it was. "Life is a Carnival" is lame.
